2 Corinthians 2:5-11 (NIV)

Forgiveness for the Sinner
5If anyone has caused grief, he has not so much grieved me as he has grieved all of you, to some extent—not to put it too severely. 6The punishment inflicted on him by the majority is sufficient for him. 7Now instead, you ought to forgive and comfort him, so that he will not be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. 8I urge you, therefore, to reaffirm your love for him. 9The reason I wrote you was to see if you would stand the test and be obedient in everything. 10If you forgive anyone, I also forgive him. And what I have forgiven—if there was anything to forgive—I have forgiven in the sight of Christ for your sake, 11in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.

Prayer

Prayer is a significant part of our individual and corporate life as a Church Family.

In our newly renovated building we have a set aside Prayer Room where people can go to pray or for prayer. This room is dedicated to the memory of the late Brian Spicer who had a passion for prayer and for encouraging and equipping others to pray.

Prayer is practiced in each of our small groups for personal, church and world issues and in our worship services we set aside time for prayer.

On Saturday mornings at the church a small prayer group meets at 9:30am and on Sunday another group meets at 9:30am before the worship service

Twice a year special weeks or several weeks of prayer are participated in as we focus in special areas and needs for prayer for both local and global issues

A regular weekly prayer focus email is sent to leaders so they might keep in touch with wider church issues and people who have special needs

After each Sunday Worship service people are encouraged to come for prayer for themselves or someone they are especially concerned for. A small prayer team prays with those people.

A monthly prayer calendar is produced to help us focus our prayers on a daily basisi for church ministries, specific people, missions and the world.

Our Pastoral Care team, Deacons and other ministry groups also make prayer an important part of their meetings.
